I have a tribal full sleeve. I originally started with a half sleeve, and decided to extend it a couple months ago, and I still feel it was a good idea. I only recommend people to get them if 1) It's an original. People often say "everybody has tribal sleeves...blah blah blah ", but if you get your artist to custom design it, then nobody will ever have the same tattoo. Tribal tattoos are so varied and diverse, you can get thin lines, medium sized lines, really thick lines, small, half sleeve, full sleeve, small design, and not to mention that since it is all custom designed, it can fit to whatever part of your body that you decide to get it on. They look really fluid and I love them. 2) you're not deciding on tribal just because you want a tattoo, and don't know what to get. This is what leads to the common misconception that tribal designs are inoriginal and "stupid ". I for one have been obsessed with designs since I was a kid, and had known that I wanted a tribal sleeve for 10 years before I actually got it. In closing, I think tribal sleeves. and tribal tattoos in general, are awesome if you get them for the right reason, and if they are custom done and original. Just google "tribal tattoos " or "tribal sleeves " to get some ideas as to what your preferences are, and then take it to a tattoo artist and let them do their thing. DO NOT get some gay little tribal flash art piece 3 square inches big that you can find in any flash art book, they look stupid, so if you're gonna get one, make it your own, and the best of luck! :D |
