Question: Do tattoo's hurt on your lower back?

I know it depends on how well you deal with pain, but I just need a general idea. I am getting the words 'The Heart Never Lies' written in plain black lettering, so hopefully it won't hurt too much! Share your experiences? Thanks x

It's more like a mild pinching feeling. This coming form the man who has absolutely no tattoos.

Both my sisters got tattoos on there lower back. not like the 'trampstamp' area but on the side alittle. they said it didnt hurt at all. but really alll depends on pain tolerence

I have a celtic shamrock on my lower back and the only time it hurt the worst was when the guy went over the spine. My friend went with me and she kept talking to me and made me think of fun times.

I had tiger lilies put on my lower back...they look really good....but it hurt so bad i almost couldn't finish and i have a high tolerance for pain. wasn't bad til he got to the sides

The closer the tatto is to the bone the worst it will hurt

Im a tattooist and obviously heavily tattooed and i can tell you that they hurt everywhere it doesn't depend on your pain tolerance at all THEY HURT. People will also tell you it hurts more on the spine this is also wrong it hurts more towards the sides . As long as you sit still and remember to breathe you should be fine .

My tat goes up my spine from my tail bone to just below my bra strap and yes it hurt. It vibrates weirdly when it goes over the spine as well! They said it would get less painful as it went up my back but I found the opposite, it got more painful! However, I got the full thing done, it was pain that was cope-able with! My tip is to breathe slowly and carefully. It really helped me. My back totally tensed up on its own which also helped (I was relaxed, back was sort of braced, it was weird and undescribable) but breathing was essential. I held my breath when he started and that was a bad idea! It's a strange sort of pain however. People go back and back for more tattoos so it must be ok. It's hard to describe to someone who hasn't got one! I totally think it was worth it though and love mine. Good luck!
