Question: Which tattoo do you like?

I was thinking of 4 chinese symbols for: courage, wisdom, happiness, and luck (i'm not sold on these four just yet) all in a row from the top of my wrist down. what do you think is that a good idea. also can chinese symbols be together like that? Then i was thinking of feather. Then i was thinking of the saying In Omnia Paratus (means: Prepared for all things) and some other sayings: Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. William Shakespeare expectation is the root of all heartache- shakespeare tell me of these which are your favorite and if you have any ideas please tell me. also be NICE!

I like the idea of words. I like the Latin especially. And I like the feather. picture looking at it forever.

I like the feather idea, because I saw a girl on the subway who had a red feather tattooed on her foot. It looked like the feather in Peter Pan's hat, it was so cool.

You will hate it within 5 years. Just look at all the people who got barbed wire arm ones and girls who got ones on their lower back when they were in fashion a few years ago. They all seem to hate the tattoos they are stuck with now and realise they look stupid. Chinese and tribal is the new barbed wire arm band. Everyone is getting them just to be embaressed for them for the next 40 or 50 years.

Omnia Paratus I never understood why someone would get asian lettering tattooed on her body forever when she can't even read or speak the language. of course latin is a dead language and the root of almost all the language spoken today, so I have no qualms about that. Don't get it in silly cursivy hard to read swooshy font either. keep it simple.

Avoid getting anything too cliched as chinese symbols, especially if you aren't fluent in reading Chinese. If you are, then you should be too smart to get something so simple as courage, wisdom, happiness and luck on you! My child and I are Russian so his name is tattooed on me in Cyrillic (which I've been fluent in since I was young), things like that are the main kind of foreign language things I suggest. Something you have a connection to personally (like italian if you are italian, russian if you are russian, chinese ONLY if you are chinese) and something that has personally meaning to you, like a life motto or something that has affected your life greatly (a la, the adoption of my son). The truth is you need to get a tattoo that is deeply meaningful to you. With all of my tats, I first drew it on me. If it got annoying and I wanted it off, it meant a biiiiiiiiig no. If it came off in time and I didn't miss it, that was a no too cause I meant I didn't care about it. When I drew it and redrew it over and over every time it diminished slightly, then I knew it was the winner. And I did each of my tattoos for roughly 4-5 months of redrawing before I got that one. After sometime, you will definitely see which one you can't live without and which ones you can. Asking Yahoo users which is their favorite, will not get you any closer to making a good, lifelong decision. You've got to do that yourself.
