What is a white ink tattoo? it looks like a scar?

White ink tattoo? first tattoo?
I just got a tattoo in white ink on my wrist three days ago, my first tattoo...its just writing on my wrist...it was good in the beginning but now its turned grayish and two of the letters seem to be fading or something, as you can barely see them now.. i've never had a tattoo before so i'm just wondering if this is normal and part of the healing process? will it get better or will i have to get it touched up? and how long do i wait before getting it touched up? any help would be great. thanks in advance.i'm aware of the white being hard to maintain. being as how its my first i wanted to make it subtle and then later on if i wanted to some add color to it I would. also didn't want to give my mother a heart attack lol. thanks for the help it was my first one so i'm not sure whats normal and whats not.

I had a lifelong friend pass away in a car accident a couple of years ago. I've wanted a white ink tattoo since then to honor him, but also because white seems so angelic and pure to me. I've done a lot of reading into it and it seems like it would require lots of up keep and things could go wrong. I also wonder if maybe a peach tone may have the same effect. I currently have no tattoos so I don't know much about them. I also feel like this would be my only tattoo. I want it towards the right side under my left breast kind of under my heart. I like the look of white ink but I don't want to waste my money on something that will fade or look awful. I also heard that the lighter the skin the better it will show up, I have fairly light skin but I tan well over time. Any advice or ideas?

I understand why people want to get them. There hard to bee seen but if you don't want it seen don't get a tattoo. In my opinion I think white ink tatts look like scars and strectch marks. I also heard that they don't stick well so you'd have to get it touched up a lot. Why spend the money and go through the pain for work that doesn't really look that good.

I'm turning 18 tomorrow April 27th and i'm thinking about getting a tattoo in honor of my mom. I would get a lifeline the thing on the heart monitors in hospitals and i would get it on my wrist to honor my mom who had survived cancer. I've been doing research, and it says that white ink barely shows up on tan skin, and it can become discolored too. I'm asian, and I go out alot, so I was wondering if i could get some info about the tattoo. Because I have wanted this tattoo since i was in 8th grade, but the idea of a white one just came to me about 2 months ago. Any tips, and advice?
