I'd ask a tattoo artist, go into a shop |

Use colored ink, they sell it online. Use your computer. |

You use colored ink. Sounds like a good question to ask whatever artist you're apprenticing under. After all, you have to apprentice to become a reputable tattoo artist, so you must be apprenticing, right? Name some 'incredible artists' who were entirely self taught. I don't mean artists who at one point tattooed on their own and then apprenticed later before becoming a professional. I mean ones that never worked under anyone ever. |

You don't say whether you are color blending, packing color, or using color to shade. My best advice is, if you are using magnum needle groups, use them like a brush. If you are using large liner or shader groups, use them in small concentric circles. Be careful, and take your time. Tune your machine to about a nickles width on the stroke. |

When you run out of places to tattoo on yourself and close friends, I have known tattoo artists to practice on fruit such as grapefruits, oranges, lemons, and other citrus fruits. That's my tip. |
